The Two Main Keys to Physical Fitness

David Jeansonne recently opened CHAMPS BOXING™️, a boxing-inspired group fitness gym, because he wanted to bring his community a revolutionized, safe way to get a great workout in a fun-for-all format. Jeansonne is dedicated to helping others achieve physical fitness success and here are his two main key components.

Motivation

Motivation is one of the two keys to physical fitness success. Without motivation, nothing would ever get done. According to Richard Price, the Regional Security Director at Blumont, Inc., motivation is an internal process that focuses a person towards goals and objectives. “In context, motivation can be said ‘the will to work,’” Price said. “Motivation can come from the enjoyment of the work itself, the desire to achieve goals and objectives, and from the sense of satisfaction that can be gained from successful completion of a task, or achieve the desired outcome to something more complex.”

Motivation stems from ambition and desire. For some, losing weight may drive their physical fitness goals. For others, it could be wanting to live a healthier lifestyle or to feel better about themselves. When it comes to reaching physical fitness goals and getting the results you desire, you need to be motivated in order to achieve the results. Before you even start working out, you need to make sure that you are self-motivated and that you have the support you need to motivate you when your motivation runs out.

One of the best reasons to workout with CHAMPS BOXING™️ is that the team is always going to help motivate you. Whether that means helping you push through the final ten minutes of a workout or offering physical fitness advice, the CHAMPS BOXING™️ team is determined to help you achieve your physical fitness goals.

Determination

That brings us to the second key to physical fitness success: determination. When it comes to physical fitness, determination is essential. For any change that comes out in your life, especially physical fitness, requires determination. You can only achieve your goals when you are entirely focused on the end result.

Achieving your physical fitness goals is not always easy, and it requires lots of motivation and determination. CHAMPS BOXING™️ is a great outlet for those in the New Orleans area to receive more motivation and determination to achieve their fitness goals. CHAMPS BOXING™️ Sponsors Local Race

This past weekend, David Jeansonne and his latest venture CHAMPS BOXING™️ sponsored the fourth annual Bursting with Speed 5k and half mile race!

The Bursting with Speed event is held in memory of Benny Burst, a faith-filled family man, and an avid runner. Burst was a native of the New Orleans area. In June 2013, Burst was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and began chemotherapy. A few months later, Burst lost his fight, and that is why the Bursting with Speed race is held to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The LLS is the largest voluntary health foundation devoted to funding research, finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

The race is hosted by the New Orleans Track Club, a not-for-profit organization and a member of the Road Runners Club of America and USA Track & Field. Additionally, CHAMPS BOXING™️ and other local organizations were able to sponsor the event. Pre-registered participants were eligible to win cash prizes and gifts donated by CHAMPS BOXING™️ and other sponsors.

CHAMPS BOXING™️is proud to support its local community. To learn more about CHAMPS BOXING™️, visit their website at ChampsBoxing.com!

CHAMPS BOXING™ Featured on WDSU-TV

I recently recognized a huge opportunity in our city for a group fitness program that conforms to literally everyone.  While group fitness will always be in a multi-person setting, the concept should focus on you as an individual.  My goal is to bring the community a revolutionized, safe way to get a great workout in a fun-for-all format—without the quick burnout that a vast majority of people hit after a few short months.  Most programs boast about creating a “lifestyle”, but then promise to get you “fit fast”.  I am after something better.  Much better.

A program unlike the standard, cookie-cutter franchise facilities that ask you to comply very specifically to their regimen burning out everyone except the most experienced fitness guru long before you reach that first level of fitness goals, much the second and third phases of fitness lifestyles. So, this new group fitness boxing craze has certainly surpassed the trendy stage.  There is something that is so individualized about you and that bag that seems to separate each person from the group—giving you the ability to “Leave It All On The Bag! ™”. After researching this Boxing-Inspired Group Fitness I saw my vision in this but it needed some tweaking, when someone told me “I think a water filled punching bag would really warrant the concept to cater to virtually everyone. Well,I never thought twice, I never looked back! I soon realized and proved this product Delivers the best workout possible.  If you’ve done it, you absolutely understand …If you haven’t, you are about to find out!

As the old saying goes “Don’t Over-think it” …Says who?! I have overthought every piece of this concept to deliver the best possible brand to our members, including the latest technology-driven, revolutionized, reinvented punching bag; The Hydroblast™ bag absorbs strikes, providing a life-like feel with no recoil impact with no joint pressure, unlike the traditional six foot tall sand filled bags that are basically obsolete. Now, they will soon be! We combined that incredible technology with a carefully designed layout, the best centralized location with more than enough parking, energetic color combinations, the easiest paperless finger vein membership software…Okay, you get it.

We are a 28 Bag studio that you will see is the perfect size to get that Group Fitness feel while not feeling like you’re working out in a crowded room. We even designed a customized timer that we put our handcrafted music playlists into that fit virtually every walk of life… Hence our Mission; to cater to “Everyday People”. You won’t find heavy metal or hardcore rap music in our classes, but you will hear everything in between. I have combed this city and others for an open floor plan facility that offered what I had in mind when it came to being kid friendly, as in truly kid friendly. I could not find one. On any given day you will find multiple children 3-12 years old dancing on our Retail Therapy™️ floor dancing to Don’t stop believing by Journey while their Mom or Dad…. or BOTH are Boxing and working out to it just 5 feet from them! Nowhere in this city or others will you find a facility where couples, siblings, and full families are all working out with friends (both old and new).  Everyone leaves laughing while they are dripping with sweat! …. Enough Said.

The location is 4650 West Esplanade Avenue near Clearview in Metairie, just minutes from any part of the city while avoiding the daunting trek and traffic down Veterans Boulevard.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

David Jeansonne, Founder

3 Helpful Tips for Starting a Business

Starting a business is challenging, and no successful entrepreneur starts a company overnight. While there is no perfect formula to follow to become a prosperous business owner, there are a few beginning steps that can set you up for long-term success. Here are my three helpful tips for starting a successful business.

1. Educate Yourself

Passion drives flourishing businesses, but no company can be successful without knowledge. This is why it’s vital to educate yourself on business practices and industry knowledge. Try to absorb everything that you can. Mike Kappel, the CEO of Patriot Software, LLC, recommends listening to what others have to say, including friends, family, and experts. By talking to others, conducting research and reaching out to experts in the field, you’ll gain helpful knowledge and advice. While you are learning, be sure to keep notes and start developing your business plans. Don’t forget to conduct research on target markets, estimate profits, and find out legal requirements. The more you learn initially will help develop your business success and hopefully prevent surprises down the road.

2. You’re Going to Need More Money

Cash flow is the lifeline of all businesses and an important measure of success, and you’re going need to a lot to start a company. Conducting research will help you determine how much it will cost for you to develop your product and service and what price you need to sell at to make money. Brad Sugars, the founder and chairman of ActionCOACH, suggests overestimating expenses and underestimate revenues. “I’ve never seen a startup business where expenses were at least 30 percent more than initially planned or anticipated, and revenues are at least that much less.” Sugars writes. It also may be necessary to contact investors for business funds.

3. Take Advantage of Free Resources

As a startup, you’re going to have limited funds, so take advantage of free resources. Whether you need help creating a website, developing a logo, or making business cards, there are so many free sources that you can use. There are free resources that can help build a business profile, create a website, develop social media practices, help track productivity, and even assist with accounting and payroll needs.

Becoming a business owner, especially a successful one, takes much more than just following these three tips. However, educating yourself, managing cash flows, and using free tools are great beginning steps to take. Success does not come overnight, but these tips can help get you started.

How To Maintain a Work-Life Balance While Becoming Successful

Maintaining a work-life balance as an entrepreneur or business owner can be very challenging, especially when it feels like you are “always on” the job. Advances in technology make it even harder to ignore emails, phone calls and leave work at the office.

Many people have a pre-established belief of what the “price of success” is, whether it’s earning a college degree or working more hours than the average employee. While these things certainly provide an advantage, the truth is that many successful entrepreneurs create a unique path to success, bypassing the social standards through discipline and extreme dedication to their business. Some have Master’s degrees, others have minimal schooling – but they all became extremely knowledgeable about their business through passion and experience.

“Don’t confuse schooling with education,” Elon Musk, founder, and CEO of SpaceX and co-founder and CEO of Tesla recently said. “I didn’t go to Harvard, but the people that work for me did.”

My path to success began when I dropped OUT of school in the 10th grade. I went on to build multiple successful businesses from scratch, including an industry-leading, 20-year automotive marketing firm in Traffic Jam Events. I did not develop these companies with a 9-5, 40-hour work week. Putting in extra hours to hone your craft is just one of the many sacrifices a successful entrepreneur often makes to get ahead of the thousands of competitors in their industry.

To be successful you will have to put in hard work and dedicate many hours, however if you follow these three tips, you will be able to somewhat maintain a work-life balance while also achieving your goals.

Unplug

If you feel like work always surrounds you, it’s because it is. Technology has made it so easy to be continually connected to work. However, it is critical to step away from emails and calls before they consume both your professional and personal life. Luckily, almost every piece of technology can either be turned off or set on do not disturb. When you are continually connected to work, you can’t devote yourself entirely to either your personal life or your work. If you do not set aside time for yourself, you will never be able to unplug.

Prioritize

It is essential to prioritize your tasks so you can get critical tasks done first. Making a list of everything that has to be completed today, this week and this month will help you prioritize. Lists help you understand what needs to get done during the day and getting it done first, thus preventing scrambling after hours to finish up. Don’t forget to prioritize yourself, your needs and your hobbies!

Set Boundaries

Be sure to set boundaries for yourself when it comes to personal and work time. There will always be more things to do. However, small things can be put off or even allocated to other people. If you do not set aside personal time, you will never be able to step away from the office.

A work-life balance can seem impossible to maintain because today’s technology makes business owners, entrepreneurs, and employees accessible around the clock. Unfortunately, we work extended hours, on the weekends, at home and on the move. Are there wealthy business owners who work 9-5 or less every day? Yes, and most of them enjoy those hours now because they powered through 80-100 hours a week when their business was merely an idea. Whether it takes one year or 20, the grind and discipline are significant factors in an entrepreneur’s success.

Ok, now that I wrote this and I truly mean it, if anyone knows how to help me actually do it please contact me ASAP. Until then I will thank and love my family for putting up with me…. and my phone!
