While January is the busiest time of the year at the gym, it is also the easiest time to give up on your newly set fitness goal completely. While attendance is up at the beginning of the month, there is a quick fall off by the end of January – middle of February. By February, most New Year’s resolution gym-goers have completely broken their fitness goals. If you intend on keeping your goal this year, trying these tips will help you break the New Year’s fitness resolution slump!
While getting in shape can be hard, it is important to keep your resolutions and goals small and specific. It is easy to set overly ambitious goals that tend to be unrealistic early on in your new fitness journey. Starting small will also allow you to become more confident and put the proper amount of work into the changes you want to make.
Making fitness a priority will help control your weight and also improve your mental health and mood. Scheduling a workout into your day just like you would schedule lunch with friends or a doctors appointment. We get busy and are sometimes overscheduled, but having the time to fit in a workout will help you stay happy and healthy. Putting fitness ahead of less active activities can help increase your life expectancy and help reduce the risk of certain diseases.
Change it Up
A study done by the American Council on Exercise showed that changing up your workout can improve your changes to sticking with your fitness resolutions. It is also important to switch up your workouts, so you are not always targeting the same muscle groups. Just running on the treadmill will not always cut it when working out. Throwing in a day of weights will help keep you from hitting a weight-loss plateau if that is one of your goals. Varying your workouts will also help keep your body from adapting to your exercise routine.
Keeping track of your fitness progress can help keep you on track for your fitness resolutions. Whether it is just jotting down improvements in a fitness diary or tracking workouts and progress in fitness apps like MyFitnessPal, tracking your progress can help keep you accountable for your workouts.
Celebrate your fitness wins! Once you reach your goals, you should celebrate it and treat yourself! It’s important to choose rewards that will not undo all the hard work you’ve completed in the gym, so choose things like new gym clothes or movie nights! Rewarding yourself each time you achieve a fitness milestone will help you reach your goals faster, but also help keep you on track to reach those goals.
David Jeansonne enjoyed a sold-out show featuring Bruno Mars in New Orleans on Saturday!
The Grammy Award winning musician hosted a full house at the Smoothie King Center and delivered with some of his greatest hits. David absolutely loved the concert and is looking forward to a great end to 2017 with more upcoming shows and sports.
As David always says: “We only live once… but if we do it right… once is enough!”
David Jeansonne and friends had a great time watching the New Orleans Pelicans take on the defending champ Golden State Warriors Friday, October 20th at Smoothie King Center! Living “the Suite Life” once again, David and co. enjoyed food, cocktails while the Pelicans put up a great fight – but ultimately lost 120-128!
Jeansonne is still excited for the Pelicans’ season, and there are plenty of games left to turn things around!
David Jeansonne and friends were ready to kick off the NBA season on Wednesday, with the New Orleans Pelicans taking on the Memphis Grizzlies. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned, as the Pelicans came up short in a 91-103 loss, but David and company are still excited for the start of the new season.
David is already looking forward to the Pelican’s next match-up – a home game right in New Orleans against reigning champion Golden State Warriors!
As the fall season begins in New Orleans, David Jeansonne is preparing to be a very busy with the Broadway and NBA seasons in full swing!
David is looking forward to a couple months of real fun with family and friends, as a few great concerts with talented artists such as Jason Aldean and Bruno Mars are on the schedule in New Orleans.
The Saints’ first game is tomorrow in Minnesota and David is certainly looking forward to this Sunday, where the Saints will host the New England Patriots in the Superdome!
David is very pleased to announce that he will be flying in four special clients and their spouses to join him and some local friends and family in his suite for the game. It will be a fun weekend, and as David says: “We will be making memories!”
On a somber note, the sales and production office located in Tampa is weathering hurricane Irma along with the rest of the state of Florida. David’s heart, head and hands are certainly stretched out to those families that help him and the rest of the team do what they do on a daily basis.
As David said: “We WILL pull the weight and carry their load until they are back in operation. And are back standing on both feet. Count on it. Life hands us good, great, and bad situations. Harvey hands Houston and its outlying areas an historical storm where our heaviest client base lives. Now we are dealing with Irma as she comes up the entire state of Florida which is where our heaviest employee base lives. We will continue to stand tall and lean forward until this breaks. Better days to come, God speaks this. Our resilience through these troubles will continue to define who we are!”
David Jeansonne was so happy to host old friends Mike and Stacie Muller for a taste of Broadway last Saturday.
Mamma Mia!, the smash hit musical based on the music of ABBA, came through New Orleans last week. The Muller’s joined David in his suite seats–it was a suite night for all!
